Construction will begin this Monday, November 3 at the high school staff parking lot for the new school addition. The staff will now be parking on the east and north side of the elementary school. This will make pick up and drop off more congested due to the lack of parking availability. Please allow extra time for elementary drop off and pick up. Thanks for your understanding and patience during the building process.

Lion Sophomores will take the PreACT on Thursday, November 6th. Students will report to their first period class for attendance prior to being released to their testing location.

Today, LPS hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for our new construction project. Those in attendance included members of our community, students, staff, administration, the Board of Education, APMA, and Boyd Jones.
Mr. Haecker delivered the welcome address and message before the event to reinforce what this project means for our students, staff, and community.
Mr. Haecker's Speech:
"Good morning, everyone!
What an exciting day for our school and our community. Today we’re not just breaking ground for a new building — we’re building on a foundation of hope, learning, and opportunity.
This project represents the dreams of our students, the dedication of our staff, and the support of our families and community.. Together, we are creating a space where curiosity will be encouraged, friendships will grow, and futures will take shape.
I want to thank everyone who helped make this a reality — your commitment reminds us that education is truly a community effort.
As we turn these first shovels of dirt, we look forward to the day when students will walk these halls, learn, laugh, and grow. The best is yet to come! "

We are never short on amazing pieces of artwork here at LHS. Ms. Oliver's art classes created their own versions of license plates using different materials for each one. Plus some awesome "neon" pieces. Always impressed with our students creativity! #WhatWeDo
