At Louisville Public Schools, every morning, students from 7th grade to 12th grade are greeted with an email waiting for them in their inbox. Junior high math teacher, Mr. York, sends out an email every morning at 7 A.M. that contains various types of information. This has been a part of Mr. York's routine for many years at LPS.

These emails include multiple things in their emails such as quotes and funny Q&As, but these may vary from day to day. Something that stays consistent in every email is a daily quote that York finds inspiring and wants to share with his students. On Mondays, York likes to add a little spin to his emails. He finds a song and adds it to the emails and calls it Music Mondays. These songs are accessible for students to go and listen to in their free time whenever they want! Other things that he might add are Q&As, funny, short sentences, or even a word of the day!

Student Derek Baker states, “I read them every day, my favorites are the music ones.”

York said, “I think that everyone I run into at school is amazing, and yet it can kind of be a drain, and so I just want to do what I can do to support and encourage people.”

Student Owen Faubion was asked what his opinions on these emails were, and he said, “I enjoy getting these emails every day, especially the ones with jokes or funny sayings in them.”

Overall, these emails are meant to add something fun to the students' lives every day. Students can find these in their school email every school day and read these messages to help them get motivated for their day.
