The phone ban at Louisville High School has been put to place after being talked about for a long time. Many are wondering how or why this happened and is it even worth it? The input from not only students but teachers will make you wonder.

One problem with phones is the AI usage.

According to sophomore Aiden Batterman, ¨Well, yeah I can't just pull out my phone and use Snapchat AI anymore.¨Many disagree and say they will just go home and use AI or ChatGPT. But, the only rules set in stone at school is no phones in class, and passing period. Kids do go home and use AI.

Activities director Mr.Walker said that there has not been as many kids on the downs list or warning list because of the phone ban.

Family And Consumer Science teacher Kristin Skorupa claims,¨I am not against it. I think kids tend to go to social media and games on their phone, and they need to stay focused in school.¨Some may say teachers should have their phone put away as well for respect and for the same reason students do. Mrs. Skorupa said,

¨I think teachers have earned the right to have their phones for important reasons. Other than emergencies I think they should be put away.¨

Many think that the phone rule is here to stay. According to Aiden Batterman, some teachers already give in a little bit. He claims they do not care at the end of the day or even if they are done with work and not a distraction.

Overall, the phone ban is here to stay, not only in Louisville but everywhere. The rule has shown grades going up, more focus in school and even a more involved environment with teachers and students.
