As the class of 2025 settles in for their final days at Louisville, they are coming together to create one last big memory, with just a few supplies: their phones, water goggles, and, of course, a water gun. The seniors have officially started a game of Splash-In, otherwise known as Senior Assassin.

Splash-in started as a fun game to play with friends and has quickly taken off on social media. Senior classes around the country are participating and posting all about their own games. Essentially, it is a big water gun fight, but everyone is assigned a specific target and a time frame to get them “eliminated” within. The app allows the seniors to track results, as well as their targets. Using only a water gun and a recording device for evidence, the games begin.

You must be asking, what are the goggles for? Well, they are the only things that can protect one from being eliminated. As long as you have your swim goggles on, you are safe. If not, you are an open target. If you want to win, you’ve got to be the most committed and be ready for all possible attacks. Senior Easton Fiala was one of the first eliminated and did not expect Emma Renner to be in his room after Fiala’s mom let her in.

“The most challenging part is just living in fear the entire time, because you never know when someone may go for you,” senior Easton Fiala said after getting eliminated.

On the other side, the “assassins” have had to come up with creative ideas in order to get others out. Most choose to sneak up behind them or wait for them to get to their cars, but for others it’s more difficult.

“When sneaking up on someone, you have to get creative,” Lutz described after attempting this method on Breyton Moore. Lutz hid in Moore’s truck bed and jumped out once he was getting in his truck.

Before Splash-In, the senior class hadn’t done anything all together throughout the year yet. So, having something that is able to unite them one last time, has been a great experience for all.

Fiala describes how he feels about the game so far and what it has meant to him and the class bringing each other together. “It’s giving us a chance to have fun through a competitive setting,” he said.

As the senior class prepares to close this chapter, and open new ones, Splash-In has not only brought the grade together, but also created lasting memories for years to come.
