The celebration of graduation is always an exciting time for seniors, acknowledging their hard work and dedication to their school. For faculty members, getting to watch a class from their shy first day of high school to walking out of the building as alumni is an unforgettable event. Louisville High School secondary principal Cameron Soester has the opportunity to experience this with the Class of 2025, his first freshman class while at Louisville.
“That movement into adulthood is kind of pretty awesome to watch,” said Soester.
Watching the Class of 2025 walk across the stage will be an emotional day for Soester as he not only watches the nervous freshmen he met four years ago, but also will get to watch his oldest son Braden earn his diploma.
“Getting to see my dad as I walk across the stage is such a huge honor,” said Braden.
Many students have proudly called themselves a Lion for the past 13 years.
Senior Aliyah Buettner will say goodbye to students and teachers she has known since kindergarten as she embarks her journey of becoming a CRNA. Buettner, much like other students, has enjoyed her time at Louisville, especially when it comes to playing and attending sporting events.
“I’ll miss the connections with my teammates and student sections,” said Buettner.
The senior class has had many students choose to start their adulthood by either attending college, getting a head start on joining the workforce, or deciding to join the military.
“You guys have big dreams and work hard to get there, and it’s really been pretty fun to watch,” said Soester.
Buettner and Mr. Soester both believe that the Class of 2025 will be remembered for their involvement in school activities. From participating in thrilling athletics to captivating the audience with their moving theatre performances, the senior class has left an impact on the school and students around them. Soester leaves the seniors with one final message before they start their next journey.
“Keep dreaming big. Keep chasing those dreams and trying to achieve the goal you want… don’t be afraid to adjust the course.”
